In Focus: The Cage-Busting Teacher

In his new book, " The Cage-Busting Teacher," Frederick M. Hess, director of education policies studies at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), explains how teachers can break out of the "cage" of routines, rules, and habits that exhaust and discourage even the most passionate teachers.
AAE members and staff were selected to be interviewed for this go-to resource on teacher leadership. In discussing options for teachers, Hess highlights that "cage-busters may choose to seek another way" with AAE. Click here to learn more. Click here to watch the book launch panel discussion.
AAE Sounds Off: Every Child Achieves Act
The passage of the Every Child Achieves Act (ECAA) by the Senate HELP Committee is making big waves among stakeholders eager to see improvements to a policy that for years has left many educators in a teaching gridlock.
To help navigate the torrential downpour of articles coming at teachers at every turn, we've done the hard work for you by summarizing the key takeaway points. Click here to read more about ECAA and its potential impact on educators.
Here at AAE, we have a chance to let legislators know what real classroom teachers think about the new #ESEA reauthorization effort. We encourage you to let your Senator(s) know your thoughts about ECAA. Email them here. We also encourage AAE members to contact us. We're proud to represent your views!
