AAE Celebrates National Charter School Week
|

The following statement can be attributed to Gary Beckner, executive director of the Association of American Educators: |
“As the nation recognizes the exceptional work of charter schools this week, AAE would like to join in the celebration. Charter schools are providing a quality education to some of the nation’s neediest students who are now flourishing in many states thanks to the hard work and dedication of teachers, administrators, communities and parents. We sincerely applaud their efforts.
Charter schools are leading the way in public school reform efforts across the nation. These schools deserve the chance to shine, and we at AAE are glad that they are receiving recognition for their accomplishments. As the charter school movement continues to grow, AAE encourages lawmakers to aid in the process of funding and supporting charter schools and their teachers. Each child in this country should be afforded the opportunity to learn at the best schools available, and charter schools are part of the equation to make that vision a reality.”
