Alexandria, VA – The Association of American Educators Foundation (AAEF), a 501(c)(3) organization supporting the mission of the Association of American Educators (AAE), a national professional association serving educators in all fifty states, announces that proposals for teacher scholarships and classroom grants are now being accepted. All full-time educators are encouraged to submit proposals for consideration to receive $500 scholarship or grant awards to help realize their professional training goals and develop student-focused projects, content, and activities. The deadline for submissions is March 1, 2020. More information and one-page application are available at aaeteachers.org/awards.

The AAEF National Teacher Scholarship and Classroom Grant program supports innovative practices and professional excellence and is open to all educators. AAEF has awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars to award recipients across the country through this competitive biannual selection process. This program offered in the fall and the spring has awarded grants to support a broad range of materials such as the purchase of cutting-edge audio technology, lab materials to build wind turbines, athletic equipment for students with special needs, and sensory gardens. Teacher scholarships allow educators in all subject areas and support specialties to broaden their knowledge base and skills through training and professional collaboration opportunities including workshops, seminars, and conferences.

“This scholarship and grant program continues to be one of the most important ways AAEF supports the teaching profession in all educational settings. The opportunity to acknowledge student-focused excellence and creativity in public district, public charter, virtual, private, and parochial schools is at the core of our mission,” said AAEF Executive Director Colin Sharkey.

The Association of American Educators (AAE) is the largest national, non-union, professional educator organization, advancing the profession by offering a modern approach to educator empowerment and advocacy—promoting professionalism, collaboration and excellence without a partisan agenda. AAE is committed to a teaching profession that is student oriented, well respected, and personally fulfilling.
