Have you ever pondered the idea of a Google-like search engine exclusively for educators and students? Look no further—instaGrok is here! The new online platform is a low cost option for teachers seeking age-appropriate resources for K-12 students. AAE staffers were recently introduced to the innovative tool at a technology summit in Wisconsin. Just like in any other search engine, users can search academic topics and are presented with a variety of resources. instaGrok presents teacher with a unique mapping platform and a plethora of interactive multimedia interfaces, designed with students in mind. Teachers can customize resources based on grade level, as well as map out work plans for specific topics. When using the service as an entire classroom, instaGrok can generate quiz questions based on student's research activity and skill level, and even support the creation of concept maps for learning assessment. As one teacher remarked, "instaGrok has revolutionized my classroom. Our science class would be lost without the concept maps. My students have really responded to the interactive resources."
