Congratulations Spring 2015 Scholarship & Grant Winners!

Today, we are pleased to announce AAE’s National Teacher Scholarship and Classroom Grant award winners for the spring of 2015.  These 15 teachers embody our core values with their dedication to the field and innovative initiatives.  We couldn’t have chosen better!

 

The Association of American Educators Foundation is committed to offering individual educators various avenues for improving their effectiveness and student outcomes. The teacher scholarships provide teachers with funding to pursue additional teacher trainings, attend workshops, or specialized conferences. The classroom grants are offered to educators to supplement the costs of student-focused projects or activities. Both awards are available to all educators, regardless of location, school, or membership status.

 

The spring 2015 winners are as follows:

 

Cassi Clausen of The Open School is creating a space where students can create new, functional electronic equipment using found electrical equipment.

Shelli Hemerson of El Rancho Charter School will be exploring physics concepts using K’NEX’s Forces and Newton’s Laws set.

Scott Wallace of Bloomington Project School will help his students create aquaponics gardens.

David Fassler of South Saint Paul Secondary School is purchasing half-scale human skeleton models for his IB program.

Amy Goodrum of Crest High is purchasing Calculator Based Rangers for use in her class.

Del Whitman of Lincoln East High School will be participating in the National String Teachers Conference.

Holly Campbell of Minne Lusa Elementary will be putting the funds towards her National Board certification.

John  Mayo of Boys Town High School will be funding a guitar music program for his students.

Keith Schoch of Bedminster Township School will be taking a course to learn better formative and authentic assessment methods.

Maureen Barrett of Harrington Middle School will be attending the National Marine Educators Conference in Newport, RI.

Sharon  Greenblatt of A.P. Morris Early Childhood Center will be funding the continuation of their gardening program.

of P53K@296 (Program 53 Brooklyn) will be purchasing more interactive materials for her autistic students to use.

Cassie Cox of Two Rivers High School will attend the National Council for Teachers of English Conference in Minneapolis MN.

Michael DeFronzo of Beehive Science and Technology Academy will be purchasing graphing calculators for innovative math lessons.

Sara Scholes of Mountain Heights Academy will purchase a class subscription to IXL.com.

 

Congratulations, teachers! Thanks to all who applied but were not selected to receive a scholarship or grant in this spring competition. The AAE Foundation National Teacher Scholarship and Grant Program is held twice a year in the fall and spring. Please consider applying for the next round of scholarships and grants. The deadline for the upcoming fall competition is October 1, 2015.
