AAE Partners with FCPCS in Florida
New Partnership Announced Between the Association of American Educators and the Florida Consortium of Public Charter Schools
Alexandria, VA – The Association of American Educators (AAE) and the Florida Consortium of Public Charter Schools (FCPCS) are pleased to announce a new partnership to support Florida’s charter school educators. AAE, the premier national, non-union association for educators, will offer teachers and other employees of FCPCS member schools full AAE membership at a low monthly rate in an effort to advance best practices and advocacy opportunities for public charter school teachers in Florida.
"We are proud to partner with FCPCS to provide professional membership and benefits to Florida’s talented charter school educators," said AAE Chairman and President Gary Beckner. "This partnership will allow both organizations to better support charter school teachers as professionals."
Through this partnership, teachers and support staff at FCPCS member schools are invited to join AAE as professional members. AAE members receive excellent member benefits and services, including a $2 million liability insurance policy and professional development opportunities, as well as a united policy voice on supporting the charter school movement both statewide and nationally.
"Educators need the peace of mind that comes with solid protection so that they can focus on students in the classroom," continued Beckner. "As an advocate for all educators, we firmly believe that no teacher should be without individual professional liability insurance. AAE provides this and much more at a fraction of the cost."
The two organizations also announced that FCPCS President Mr. Robert Haag has joined AAE’s National Advisory Board.
“AAE believes, as we do, that public charter schools are a vital component of the education reform movement,” stressed Haag. “Working with AAE to spread the word about professional benefits will further strengthen the charter school movement in Florida.”
New Resource for Teachers: Don’t miss “Teachers for Charter Schools,” a free membership organization and online resource for teachers who work at or wish to work at Florida charter schools. FCPCS recently unveiled the new program and website as part of a statewide rollout of the program to members of Florida’s education community, as well as to prospective teachers. Teachers may join, free of charge, at teachersforcharterschools.org.
